Hiriyaseegai is a small mountain village in the Kundah Taluk of The Nilgiris district. This small beautiful village is the very last village on the south west corner of the Nilgiri mountains. Hiriyaseegai is around 60 km from Ooty town and the nearest town is Manjoor is about 30 km from the village. The road to Hiriyaseegai from Manjoor is very scenic and passes through the jungle with many hairpin bends.
The village is surrounded by mountains, tea plantations and provides spectacular views of the valley and the plains. It is one of the must view places in the Nilgiris. One can clearly view the Geddai pen stock and the Mulli – Geddai – Manjoor mountain road from here. There are no hotels or stay facilities here, have to go to the nearest town Manjoor.
How to reach Hiriyaseegai
Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) Ooty bus depot runs two small buses (SWB) to this village from Ooty Central bus stand and the traveling time will be around 03:30 hrs. The bus will go via Lovedale, Kaikatty, Kundah, Manjoor, Thaisolai and Kinnakorai. Also one bus to Kinnakorai village which is the nearest village to Hiriyaseegai. Kinnakorai is around 4-5 km from Hiriyaseegai.

Buses fly to Manjoor from Ooty and Coonoor at regular intervals.
